Inequalities are pervasive and identifying feature of modern industrial societies; yet they are not always explicitly and easily observable without exploratory and explanatory power of social sciences involving, but not limited to, philosophy, sociology, economics, political science, social policy and ethnography. Moreover, diverse characteristics of inequalities inevitably require us to develop comprehensive and varied perspectives so long as the purpose is to overcome their undesirable consequences. Thus, both understanding and coping with such unjust characteristic of modern industrial societies eventually invoke different branches of social sciences. In this regard, this book aims to broaden our intellectual horizon and raise awareness on various forms of inequalities which have always been a central and burning issue of scholars in social sciences.
